My Future

Twas a time, I could play it out in my mind, thru my shut eye. Crossing the stage one step after the other. Green graduation gown with a decorated cap, except all I see is blurred green. An empty diploma folder in hand with my freshly painted nails wrapped ‘round the edges. I glide down the steps of the stage to head back to my seat. Heel to toe my foot touched the concrete ground, blank. All I see is emptiness, my future ends here. I could not see my life past my highschool graduation. Click the fast forward button on the remote of life, I can finally see my future. I close my eyes with such grace, a harmonic rhythm fills my ears. The path paved for me is clear, I will live. And I will live with a joy filled soul because I will finally be free.
