Instant Poem

I’ve always loved the sky and the colors it created as the sun set,

It’s living proof that each day is beautiful no matter the hardships we faced that day.

But what happens when night falls?

That is the daring question.

Here there is too much sadness and not enough cotton candy clouds in the sky.

But I’ve learned to find beauty in the night,

Through the moon.

It shines a fluorescent cream blue light upon me,

Highlighting my flaws,

Turning them into more magnificent features.

I close my eyes as I dance through the night,

Running through the thin grass fields,

Stomping in the dirt I used to make mud soup when I was a little girl.

The moon light brings a mysterious vibe to the night,

Now I understand the fascination.
